The Novelty Senior Citizens’ met for the monthly luncheon on May 5, 2022, which seemed a dreary, drab day.   After the pledge was recited, Jim gave the blessing.  Happy Birthday was sung to Marsha with a “spring” cake made by Judith.   We missed having Denis there to celebrate HIS birthday this month.

Diana called the business meeting to order afterwards.  The minutes were read by Marsha, seconded by David and approved as read.  Judith gave the treasurer’s report, seconded by Dorothy, and approved as presented.

Marsha had sent a thank you note to the Novelty Church youth thanking them for picking up the wreaths.  Discussion followed as to whether we needed to send a monetary gift of appreciation.  Judith will contact Paul and we can decide next month (it could perhaps be used as a “scholarship” for summer camp?)

Marsha presented an estimate from Memphis Seamless Gutter for new gutters to be installed with a leaf filter.  Judith will try to get another estimate from a company in Kirksville.  Hopefully we can make a decision on this next month as well.

Diana mentioned that Helen Pulse will be celebrating her 90th birthday in September.  As she used to be a regular at our coffee time, we decided to make sure to invite her to the luncheon and have a card signed by all for her.

Carolyn will make the cake for June.  Coffee makers for the month are: May 10—Diana,  17—Marsha;  24—Judith;  31—Kathryn

Judith moved to adjourn, David seconded.  Meeting adjourned.
