Novelty Senior Center will sponsor Wreaths Across America.

We would like to Welcome you to our new
community-fundraising effort.

Some of you may have heard of our sponsorhip for
Wreaths Across America and some may not...
.
This is a community wide project that will focus on sponsorhips for
the wreath- laying ceremony, December 17th, to honor all active military,
veterans and veterans who are buried in
Novelty Cemetery and Locust Hill Cemetery.

Family, friends and businesses may sponsor wreaths to be laid in either cemetery.
With the correct information, or you may lay the wreath yourself during the ceremony, we offer to lay a wreath on a veteran specific grave.

  • WAA is a 501 C3 charitable organization which means all donations are tax deductible.

There will be a donation military boot for pocket change/monetary donations AND forms at every event in the center for those who wish to sponsor a wreath.  To use a credit card please visit the WAA web site and click on our fundraising page.  The cemetery number and group number MUST be on the page and the form to make sure your wreath is present for the ceremony in Novelty.
It all adds up, 25 cents becomes $1, $1 will become $15 which will equal one wreath sponsored for WAA.

There are  86 veterans in Novelty Cemetery
and 35 veterans in Locust Hill Cemetery.  We understand that it
may not be possible to place a wreath on each Veteran's grave, but we would
like to honor all them during our ceremony.

Our wreath-laying ceremony will be held on  December 17, 2016,
in the Novelty Cemetery. (weather permitting - it is N.E. Missouri after all.)
There will be other arrangements made if the weather turns to inclimate to hold the ceremony outside.

Wreaths Across America Fundraising Group...

The Senior Center has volunteered to host sponsorship, of Wreaths Across America, in Novelty.

There will be a fundraising project in our future, too.

For additional inspiration we will have "Christmas in July".
We have a goal set for the month of July, to get a minimum
of 10 (or more) wreaths sponsored.

If you, or anyone you know, would like to be included in  this
fundraising group, please contact Marsha Pinson 660-216-1021 or
email jpinson@marktwain.net.

This is a community supported event.  A task this large will need  volunteers
to spread the news about sponsorships, unloading the delivery truck,  the wreath-laying ceremony, December 17 at 11:00 AM sharp,  and wreath removal in February, 2017.

The goal, to place rememberance wreaths on every
veterans grave, will be monumental.  The number of wreaths needed for
Locust Hill Cemetery is 35 and 86  are needed for Novelty Cemetery.

Only with the continued help of our members, friends, families,
businesses, veterans and the generosity of our community
will this goal be accomplished.

We look forward to hearing from you soon!

Remember.  Honor.  Teach.
