Novelty News...

The Mother-Daughter Tea, held at the Novelty Christian Church,
was quite lovely.  Six ladies from the Center enjoyed
the day very much and some of them are also members of the church.
Beautiful decorations on the tables, fruit pizzas and a game
called "Who Am I ?".   Baby photos, of ladies from the church, were shown
and we had to guess who they were.  It was fun !

There were 38 in attendance.  Mothers, daughters, grandmothers,
great-grandmothers, granddaughters and so on.

The guest speaker was Kathy Nickerson from Heartland. She is an author, inspirational speaker, mother, grandmother and an eternal optimist.

We were enlightened by her topics that covered "spiritual sappiness", "vision fields -  when we are planted in the House of the Lord and with a purpose", "The seasons of life and how we all reflect our seasons differently".

She shared wonderful antidotes of parenting and grand parenting
from her own family. Something she said that hits it on the head,
" Let's take care of each other.  Invade their lives.  Let them know you are listening".  Very poignant for a Mother-Daughter Tea.

"30 Days to Glory" and "The Secret of Serendipity"
are available on Amazon.com, Hastings
in Kirksville, as well as from the author.  A sequel
will be released in July of this year.
The books are also in the library in Edina.

Book signing by the author Kathy Nickerson.
