MAY, 2019 monthly luncheon and meeting

We met Thursday, May 2 for the monthly luncheon and business meeting.  We had a good turnout--better than we've had in awhile.  (Granted, this is only the 2nd time we've had this in 2019!)  Present were Judith, Marsha and Jim, Jeff and Leah, Carolyn, Kathryn, Dorothy and Denis, Diana, and Helen P.  It was good to have our "snow birds" back to join us again.  Nurse Sherry was there to take blood pressures, inquire of several health issues of individuals, and answer any health questions we had.  After the pledge of allegiance was recited, Jeff gave the blessing for the meal.

Happy Birthday was sung to Marsha and Denis.  The "birthday pies" of peach and apple were baked by Kathryn.  Candles were those that do not stay blown out! 😀

When Diana and Judith had the dishes washed, dried, and put away, we began the business meeting.  Diana called the meeting to order:  Judith gave the treasurer's report.  Marsha had gotten the minutes to last month's meeting in the paper so did not read them.  Both the minutes and the treasurer's report were accepted as  presented.

Business conducted:

1,  Ron and Shirley have mowed the small yard we have, and will continue that this year.

2.  Paperwork has been received about the 33rd annual CornFest in Edina.  It will be September 6-8th.  Marsha made motion to have a vendor's table at this for one day.  Judith seconded.  Motion passed unanimously.  Judith will send in the papers.

3.  Marsha had received information from WAA that during the month of May (it being Military Appreciation month) that WAA will match wreaths donated to our cemeteries.  An ad will be placed in the Edina Sentinel asking that donations be made THIS month to take advantage of this promotion.  An ad will be placed in the Sentinel, on the Marktwain website, and on this blogsite (another entry).  In addition Marsha put it on her facebook page.

4.  Some paperwork for federal had not been completed:  Bobbi Clark, CPA helped us get that done correctly.

5.  Next meeting will be June 6.  We invite anyone who would like to join us for that luncheon and fellowship--you don't have to stay for the business meeting!  Diana will make the birthday cake for June (and we do have two birthdays)  Coffee makers were assigned for each Tuesday up until June 6.

Judith moved to adjourn, Helen seconded.
