MARCH 2020 LUNCHEON
March
5, 2020 found the Novelty Senior Citizens meeting again for the
monthly luncheon. The center was decorated for St. Patrick's
Day—greens, white, and shamrocks. Only four were present for the
meal and meeting: even the Health Department had other commitments
today and could not be present. Denis gave the blessing for the food
after the pledge was recited. Happy Birthday was sung to Dorothy,
with the “green poke cake” being made by Judith.
After cleanup, the business meeting was called to order at 1:15 p.m. Minutes to last month's meeting were approved as read. No one had seen them in the Sentinel, so unsure if they'd actually been published. Judith gave the treasurer's report .which was also approved.
Marsha gave Judith a check from WAA--$60 for wreaths for the 2019 ceremony, and $395 for wreaths purchased in our January group. That is not all we will received for 2020 wreaths purchased in January.
Discussion of various things. Diana has purchased a new snow shovel for the center but was not present to receive her repayment for it. Talked of Mae: she is still in the hospital after her fall on Tuesday after coffee. She has broken teeth and a broken jaw.
Next month the luncheon will be April 2nd. Dorothy will make a birthday cake. Coffee makers for the coming month are Diana, Judith, Donna Faye and Marsha.
