Racing to the checkered flag!!

I am still considered a tourist here in Novelty and I decided to take
my friend Nancy, another tourist, to see the R/C track in town.
Novelty R/C Raceways and Hobbies.

WOW!  Wasn't what I was expecting!
Rex has been racing for about 19 years.
Rex Franke was grooming the track for the Saturday night
race, so we bothered him for a bit.  It gave me a chance to take a few photos to share with our blog community.
Had a lot of questions and he obliged.

Did you know the cars have chip sensors in them?
Really?  How cool is this!  Computers read all the
information the car is putting out.
It can even tell you who won the race!
The racetrack has been in Novelty since 1999.

I love the part where it reads "Don't take this to seriously, you are only
racing toy cars".

Looks like a tough track to me.  There are also just oval tracks. How boring can that be!

Saturday is race day and qualifying.  In the evening is the feature to see who wins
ROAR rules are official rules! ROAR.com - Radio Operated Automobile Racing.
June 25 starts a "series". First of four races. Just like the big cars there will
be awards and prestige.

Thank you Rex for the tour, the wonderful explanations (your patience) and an invitation to a race.

It was a hot day, but a great day at the track.  Let's go racing boys (& girls) ...Boogity, Boogity, Boogity.
