We are fundraising for the Wreaths Across America! For just six weeks of organized work, we have 44 wreaths already sponsored, and a list full more from people who want to sponsor a wreath for their specific loved veteran, but we just haven't received the money yet.
We are also putting donation "boots" in several locations throughout the county as well as having one with us as we have a booth in Hurdland for the 4th of July (and watch for our float in that parade!)
We were very thankful to Sam Shoults who answered a swap shop ad for boots! He would simply give them to us, as long as he didn't have to shine them up!!!! Here are his boots, and his comment: Those old boots were truly "boots on the ground" in Iraq during Desert Storm in 1990-91. I'm glad they can finish service helping collect money for a cause. Best of luck! Thank you, Sam for serving....and thank you for your donation!

And after some elbow grease, here they are now (well, they do have the laces in now).

I am sure I did not do nearly as good a job of shining them as most soldiers would. You can drop by Lucky's Cafe in Edina and see one of them, and while you're there, drop in a donation for a wreath! (If you haven't been there, you will also enjoy looking around their decorations and pictures of local veterans. Oh, yes, they have "humongous" tenderloins as well!)
